Bill Bloopers II

OK, so it is official now. Airtel is indeed charging me, and a few of its other customers whom I know, Rs.2 per MB as against the actual promised tariff of Rs. 1.20. It took me three months, and my lawyer one week, to be able to speak with their Legal whatever, to get them to admit this "error". But I guess this is as 'correct' as they can get. Not sure who is covering who's butt, but they are all (billing, legal...) trying to now prove that they have also rectified this error. I must give it to them for their sense of humour...it gets wonkier and wonkier, its like their customer care guys who drive you to the brink of insanity and then end the torture with, "thank you for... blah blah... ma'am. I hope you have a nice day".

Meanwhile, my mobile has been silenced, it would be too ambitious to take on both broadband dept. and mobile dept. at the same time. Not worth bursting some blood vessel in my brain.

If this is not a blatant show of unapologetic audacity, then what is it? What makes them so audacious?

The fact that their consumer base is increasing at a phenomenal rate? Consumers are hooked to their services? Myth about competition ensuring better service in this phase of intense growth? Total and absolute ignorance of what is expected of a "service" industry? Or that we usually take crap?

Hmm...a journey from Mahatma Gandhi's "non-violence" movement to aam middle class admi's "non-resistance"...to where?
