Burning of leaves It is often seen that the persons who maintain the parks in Bangalore collect the debris such as fallen leaves etc. and periodically set fire to this. The resulting smoke fills the neighborhood and is damaging to health - especially to those who have respiratory ailments such as asthma, bronchitis, emphysema etc. It is understood that the parks in Bangalore are maintained by the Forest department. An RTI application has been sent to the Public Information officer / Principal Chief Conservator of Forests and is reproduced herewith so that it can help guide people who face similar situations in other areas and wish to take action. |
