How to make a RTI application

1. Visit the organization's website and find out who the Public Information Officer (PIO) is.

2. Address a letter to the PIO stating the facts. At the top of the letter write boldly 'RIGHT TO INFORMATION ACT 2005"

3. Attach a Rs. 10 postal Order (which is available at any Post Office).

4. State the facts. Mention that postal order # so and so is enclosed.

5. Ask relevant questions. (In the case of Karnataka organizations: Make sure that the total number of words in the questions section should be 150 or less.)

6. Send the letter by Speedpost to the concerned PIO.

Within 30 days they should send you a legally and factually correct reply.
